Dr. Sambhu Ram Simkhada, is a Senior Diplomat and Foreign Policy Expert. He is the first former Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations in Geneva, Chairman of the UN Human Rights Commission and also Ambassador to Switzerland. With early education in Darkha village of northern Dhading district, Shambhu Ram Simkhada went on to be the first Nepali to obtain Ph. D. in International Relations. He also completed Leadership for the Twenty First Century, Conflict Chaos and Courage course from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. He has several publications, articles and research papers on politics, economic development, international relations, foreign and security policy. As adviser to Nepali Congress President and Leader of the Seven Party Alliance late Girija Prasad Koirala, Dr. Simkhada is credited to have effectively articulated Koiralas Path to Peace and Democracy to the International Community during the Peoples Movement of 2006.
